This is my personal dev/hobby blog and as a fan of learning in public, all kinds of thing I create in my spare time are gathered here.
About me
My name is Moritz Kirschner and I work as a Software Engineer at Volume Graphics where I am solving problems using Python, TypeScript and occasionally C++. Before that, I studied physics at Heidelberg University and was a lecturer for computer science at the Internationales Studienzentrum of Heidelberg University.
I am fascinated by simulations and 3D rendering. In my studies, I used climate simulations to investigate atmospheric effects on floodings in Europe or compared the effects of solar and volcanic forcing in glacial and interglacial climate. However, before engaging in environmental physics, I completed my bachelor thesis in the field of machine learning and computer vision.
In my free time I love take my camera for a walk, play the guitar or develop things like my own open-source local multiplayer game.

About this website
This website is powered by Hugo, styled using Bulma and generously served to you by netlify.com. A workflow I can wholeheartedly recommend.
If you also want to give it a shot, there are lots of great tutorials on the topic. Plus you can always shoot me a message on mail@moritzkirschner.com.
